In general, WR suburban area is considered as more posh area as compared to CR suburban area since decades, when the crowding was maximum in WR especially in CCG-VR locals. Today crowd in CR suburban has increased due to much faster population growth in Navi Mumbai, Mill area redevelopment in CR suburban area and tremendous growth in Thane, Kalyan region since last 2-3 decades.
WR suburban rail service is much better as compared to CR Lesser breakdowns, lesser delays Also more number of services especially from western suburbs like Bandra, Andheri, Borivali to Churchgate. In addition few services also ply from intermediate stations like Malad and Goregaon for Churchgate during peak hours.
