add to the woes of rail passengers. On this note, East Central Railway (ECR) chief public relations officer AK Rajak said, “The move will help us streamline the timing of express/mail trains, which have been running inordinately late in the past few weeks.”
The 26 cancelled trains included: Anand Vihar-Danapur Express, Patna-Howrah Janshatabdi, Patna Rajdhani Express, Patna-Ranchi Janshatabdi, Sampoorna Kranti Express and Saharsa-Amritsar Express. The Railways has also cancelled seven mail/express trains originating/terminating/passing through the ECR zone for a month, as reported by India Tv. Earlier, a Northern Railway official said 23 trains were rescheduled as the visibility dropped to 400 meters on Monday and 82 Delhi-bound trains were delayed.
Due to fog disruptions, every year thousands of trains undergo cancellations, arousing inconvenience to many passengers. Not only that, there were several accidents reported in this season.
However, flight operations remained largely unaffected. Still, seven flights operating to Patna were also delayed while one was re-directed.
