Every seventh person who received the Sputnik V vaccine complains of weakness and fever
According to the Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko, these are predictable complications that are leveled within a day.
MOSCOW, September 15. / TASS /. About 14% of volunteers vaccinated against coronavirus as part of post-marketing Sputnik V vaccine trials complain of weakness, fever
and muscle pain. Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko announced this to reporters on Tuesday.
"More than 300 people have been vaccinated, approximately 14% have small complaints of weakness, muscle pain during the day, and occasionally there is a rise in temperature. This is what is described in the instructions, these are the complications that are predictable. They, as a rule, during days, maximum one and a half, are leveled, "he said.
Murashko added that the vaccine has passed a number of clinical and preclinical trials and has been developed on a platform that was previously used to create vaccines. “We have very large data on this platform, and we can safely talk about the safety of this drug. But any drug that goes into widespread use should receive more detailed, detailed data on [its] use already in a large number of patients with different diagnoses, with different states of immunity, "he said.
Telemedicine center
A special telemedicine center operates to accompany volunteers who received the vaccine as part of the third phase of research. "This center is very important for the quality of observation, tracking all emerging symptoms after vaccination. It clearly regulates the observation protocols within the framework of the clinical trial design. The mobile application developed by Moscow allows video calls, and the operators are all specialists with higher medical education, who have access to a medical record, that is, they also know the chronic diseases of patients. This allows us to obtain a full range of data on the course of the post-vaccination period, "Murashko said.
“We tried to do so together with the Ministry [of Healthcare of the Russian Federation] so that the communication tools for a sufficiently long six-month period were as comfortable as possible for them [patients]. This is also a telemedicine center, where they communicate with a person directly in the first three days. and a mobile application for those who intend to fill in their own health indications. And we will also watch electronic bracelets for a specific category, which will also allow them to track health indications remotely. All of them [data] will be entered into an electronic medical record and tracked already directly by the doctor, "- said the deputy mayor of Moscow Anastasia Rakova.
Vaccine production
Murashko also said that the production of the Sputnik V vaccine is going according to plan, three large enterprises in Russia are engaged in the industrial production of the vaccine.
"At the same time, the industrial production of a large number of doses of vaccine, including lyophilic and liquid forms, is underway. Today, three large manufacturers are directly working in this direction. We believe that everything is progressing in accordance with the roadmap," the minister said.
Murashko added that the first batch of coronavirus vaccine is currently being delivered to all regions in Russia. The first to receive the drug will be doctors, teachers and workers of other professions who communicate a lot directly with the population. In addition, in parallel, medical personnel are trained to work with the drug. “I think that manufacturers will begin to supply large volumes at the end of November - in December. These are the ones that will allow us to reach not only risk groups, but also to more widely vaccinate the population,” he said.
