JAIPUR: Dense fog in Delhi and neighbouring Haryana put extra burden on the Jaipur airport as at 10 early morning Delhi bound flights were diverted to Jaipur. A large number of passengers were seen at loggerheads with the airline operators on the sudden diversions till these flights took off for Delhi. Likewise, at least half-a-dozen trains coming from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi and Haryana also got delayed due to the heavy fog.
Mild fog was also reported in the outskirts of Jaipur which was probably the first fog of the season so far.
flights started getting diversions after Indira Gandhi Airport did not give clearance for landing. "We witnessed 10 diversions in the morning. After the weather was cleared all these flights left for Delhi," said an officer with the airport authority. The diverted flights included one flight from Ethiopian airlines. The traffic was thereafter smooth after 11.30 am onwards.
