No. It was started sometime after Independence. There were no regular direct trains from Lucknow to Delhi before Independence. Sometime between 1947-1952, a Lucknow-Delhi express was started. Even this was originally running via Kanpur, and was diverted via Moradabad in 1952. Later on this express was renamed as a 'Mail'.

via LKO. Other via LKO trains were neelanchal n lko shatabdi. I wil try finding & sharing d pic. . For "mail" status, it was a normal M/E earlier and later on made SF. . Its shifting to LJN's pf#2 is not satisfactory. Pf#6 seems apt but again left constraints until LKO's pf#1 seems fine.
