JAIPUR: Adding to the passenger amenities Jaipur railway station on Monday got a new air-conditioned waiting hall for passengers travelling in Ist Ac, IInd AC and executive class categories. It also has baby feeding room and special amenities for the physically challenged passengers and also a separate compartment for the VVIPs visiting the railway station.
Ram Charan Bohra, member of Parliament, Jaipur, Nirmal Nahata, Jaipur mayor, Arun Chaturvedi, state social justice minister, and Anjali Goyal, divisional railway manager (DRM), Jaipur inaugurated the waiting hall for the passengers.
This will enable the railway officials
to have a separate waiting room for the passengers for various categories of travel. "The passengers travelling with Ist Ac, IInd AC and executive class can avail the facility of this waiting room while for IIIrd Ac and Sleeper and general class there are separate waiting rooms now at the platform no 1 of Jaipur junction railway station," said Tarun Jain, chief public relations officer(CPRO), north western railways, Jaipur.
Senior railway officials said that this is in addition to the other passenger amenities at the Jaipur railway station.
The estimated cost of this waiting room is nearly Rs 40 lakh and its construction work was completed in a period of 75 days. "It has a sitting capacity of 100 passengers and it is designed in a manner that it is friendly for the physically challenged passengers. Likewise, it also has as VVIP lounge and a separate baby feeding corner for the infants and their mothers," Jain added.
The waiting room will display the important information on the trains arrivals and departures.
