GUWAHATI: A Class X student - Pankaj Barman - was found dead by the railway tracks in the Noonmati area of the city on Sunday.
The boy had gone missing on Saturday afternoon after leaving home to join his friends for a game of football in Mathghoria. When he did not return, his family lodged a police complaint.
Barman's body was found on Sunday morning by railway police who suspect he had been hit by a train. Police found a 'suicide' note from his shirt pocket.
note said he had committed suicide due to depression. He sought forgiveness from his family and said nobody understood him," said police.
Barman's elder brother identified the body and said, "No one knows why he chose to end his life. He was writing something before leaving home. When asked, he said he was studying but we could never guess he was writing a suicide note."
Police said they were investigating the case. tnn
