ALLAHABAD: The inquiry of the Poorva Express derailment commenced with the visit of railway safety commissioner, North Eastern Circle, A K Jain on Tuesday. The railway safety commissioner visited Rooma station along with divisional railway manager Amitabh, principal chief safety officer S K Kashyap and other officers.The commissioner and officials conducted intensive inspection of station yard, track and coaches, wheel, coupling, under-gear etc, said public relation officer, NCR, Amit Malviya. The train had derailed after passing Rooma station on Saturday midnight between Allahabd-Kanpur section of Allahabad division. Total of 12 coaches (S8, S9, PC, HA1, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, A1, A2, SLR), including 10 passenger coaches, one pantry car and one SLR of Delhi-bound 12303 Poorva Express had derailed. Both Up and Down line operations were interrupted because of the accident. The official also recorded the statements of Loco pilot of the train Phool Kumar and Raman Singh and loco inspector K C Pandey. The inquiry would continue on April 24, said the PRO.
