NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old section engineer working with the railways has been booked for allegedly molesting a 20-year-old woman in south east Delhi's Pul Prahladpur.
However, the accused has also filed a cross complaint against the woman alleging that she and some of his other colleagues hatched a conspiracy to frame him in a false case, police said. He also accused them of thrashing him. A separate case of assault and use of force to deter public servant from discharge of duty was registered. "We have registered a molestation case and are going through both the complaints. We will question the accused further once the picture gets clear," said a senior officer.
her complaint, the woman said that on Monday at 1 pm, the engineer asked her for a glass of water. When she went to his cabin with the water, he allegedly grabbed her hand and tried to drag her towards the bathroom.
She added that she raised an alarm and managed to free herself. She ran out and alerted her colleagues and other employees present at the rail yard. A few local residents also arrived and all of them thrashed the accused, after which they informed the police.
