Mysuru: Railway Protection Force (RPF), Mysuru division, South Western Railways, on Monday arrested five railway employees in connection with Rs 10.35 lakh going missing from Arsikere Railway Station. Speaking to TOI, Prakash Panda, division security commissioner (RPF), said, "Based on circumstantial evidence, we have arrested five railway employees, who were working at Arsikere Railway Station at the time of crime. K Sumalatha, Sharif, Anand, Rajesh and Shinoji were produced before the court. Sumalatha and Sharif are in judicial custody while Anand, Rajesh and Shinoji are in RPF custody. We will hopefully crack the case soon". On August 15, Rs 10.35 lakh, which was the total four-day collection of the railway station, went missing. A complaint was filed by K Sumalatha and senior supervisor Riyaz Ahmed, based on which, RPF launched a probe. During investigation, it was found that the box in which the cash was kept was not tampered with, which...
led them to suspect that it was an insider job.
