Erode Palani line- 110 km- is not progressing at all.
Why can't we explore a Tiruppur to Udumalaipettai line via Palladam? Just 60-65 kms and links Tiruppur with its taluks of Palladam and Udumalaipettai. Can act as a Erode Palani line with 150 kms -- Erode Tiruppur Palladam Udumalai Palani. Can act as a chord link for Coimbatore Erode line and Coimbatore Madurai line.

I could not see any mention about doubling of the main line between Trichy and Villupuram. Is this scrapped, or any work is happening on this ?
No idea. Hopefully it should also happen. But from Trichy to Thanjavur, it is already double electrified.
Yes. If it happens at the earliest, then the unnecessary looping can be done away with. Also it will act as as best alternate to south east areas like Sivaganga, Rameswaram bypassing Trichy bottleneck.
