As many 92 cases pertaining to pension grievances were disposed of during the pension adalat conducted by the Hubballi division of the South Western Railway (SWR) here on Thursday.
The pension adalat is conducted on December 15 every year as per the directives of the Department of Pension and Pensions Welfare (DOP&PW). On Thursday, as many as 135 cases were received during the adalat.
The adalat is a special initiative to examine the grievances of pensioners so as to redress the same immediately and to obviate the delay in settlement of dues. During
such pension adalats, officials dealing with pensions from personal and finance department actively participate to dispose of the grievances.
On Thursday, the personnel heard the grievances and settled issues that were within their purview. Presiding over the valedictory ceremony, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer of Hubballi Division Shuja Mahmood expressed satisfaction over the disposal of pending cases through the adalat and assured the pensioners that all efforts will be made to clear the other pending cases registered during the adalat.
He also urged the pensioners to bring requisite documents to the office and the adalat while presenting grievances so as to enable the authorities to address them immediately.
Senior Divisional Finance Ajay Kumar Jain and representatives of the All India Retired Railwaymen Employees Federation, Railway Pensioner’s Welfare Association participated in the pension adalat.
Assistant Personnel Officer of the division M.A. Johnson proposed a vote of thanks.
