I do not know about the reaction of Kerala people, but it is a good news as far as Karnataka and Particulary Kodugu which has lost fairly good area of vegetation due to various reasons and rainfall also has come down drastically in Kodugu which is the birthplace of River Kaveri.
This is a very good news from Railways. This was a railway line proposed to help the timber business owned by few politicians. This is a pro-people measure.
Good news for environment protection, and major step back for Kerala rail connectivity. KSRTC and other #buslobby will party after this news :)
