the Bharatpuzha bridge (km 1/600-1/900) where direct road access is available. Despite this access, a group of 10 laborers chose to cross the railway bridge, without informing railway officials, to reach the station. As no railway work was planned on the bridge that day, there was no railway protection available. Unfortunately, four laborers were hit by a train, with three workers being run over and one jumping into the river. Train no: 12626 Kerala Express was traveling on the down line side of the bridge, which has no speed restriction. The railways have initiated contract termination and a criminal case against the contractor for failing to ensure worker safety. Ex gratia payments of Rs. 1,00,000/- will be disbursed to the deceased workers' families.

approach of Bharatpuzha bridge (km 1/600-1/900) ke beech rag cleaning ka kaam diya gaya tha, jahan se road access easily available hai. Iske bawajood, 10 laborers ne railway bridge se cross karne ka faisla kiya, bina railway officials ko inform kiye, station pahunchne ke liye. Is din bridge pe koi railway work plan nahi tha, isliye koi railway protection available nahi thi. Unfortunately, four laborers ko train ne hit kar diya, jisme se three workers run over ho gaye aur ek ne river mein jump kar diya. Train no: 12626 Kerala Express down line side se bridge pe chal rahi thi, jiske liye koi speed restriction nahi thi. Railways ne contractor ke against contract terminate karne ki action li hai aur criminal case bhi lodge kar diya hai, kyunki unhone workers ki safety ensure nahi ki. Deceased workers ke families ko Rs. 1,00,000/- ki ex gratia payment jaldi hi di jaayegi.
