Nanguneri police have arrested a youth who allegedly issued a bomb threat to the Nanguneri railway station on Tuesday night.
Police said an unidentified caller, who contacted the Nanguneri police station through landline on Tuesday night, threatened that he had planted bombs at Nanguneri railway station and Nanguneri bus stand and the explosives would go off within next 30 minutes.
Based on the mobile phone number from which the call had been made, the police picked up G. Raja alias Esakki Raja (29) of Nanguneri, who had made the call under the influence
of alcohol. The Nanguneri police arrested Esakkiraja and remanded him in judicial custody.
