As per the order, the IRCTC will intimate the concerned Zonal Railway about the exact date from which onboard catering services with cooked food will be resumed in a particular train for the journeys falling within the Advanced Reservation Period.

Zonal Railways will then verify the catering charges to be realized based on services being provided and the applicable rate list and feed the same in the PRS software for enabling booking/opting out of Catering services, from ARP date, at the time of booking of tickets.

In addition to this, Zonal officers are also required to inform e-ticket passengers through SMS and e-mail, who already booked tickets in advance regarding the resumption of cooked food supply.

For the tickets already booked, IRCTC will provide a facility on its website to opt for catering services and payment of the charges due in advance. This facility will be available for e-tickets as well as counter-ticket passengers.

For those passengers who already booked and have not opted for the same online, cooked food should be made available on demand in the train on a payment basis, subject to availability. The ticket checking staff onboard shall collect the catering charges due as per the approved rate list.

Blanket, sheet and pillow facilities will be available again in the train
There is a good news for the passengers. Once again, they are going to get many other facilities including blankets, sheets and pillows in trains again. But this time this service will not be provided to the passengers for free. For these they will have to pay.
This time the railways will provide the complete kit to the passengers. The price of which has been kept at Rs.300. It will not be mandatory to buy the complete kit. Anyone who wants can take advantage of this service. Passengers can also buy things according to their need and another special feature of this service is that you will be able to take your kit home.
Last year, in view of the corona epidemic, trains had stopped the facility of giving blankets, sheets, pillows. Passengers were demanding this facility from the railways for a long time. Now the railways will provide the facility to provide the complete kit to the people. You will have to pay Rs 180 for a blanket, Rs 70 for a pillow and Rs 40 for a sheet.

across Railways premises streamlined and efficient.Railways have always been a part of the Cinematic experience of India. Many films have beautifully captured the Indian Railways on celluloid.
The FFO has been set up with a view to ease filming in India and promote the country as a preferred destination for filmmakers from across the world. Its web portal is the single window facilitation and clearance mechanism for filming across India as well as the one-stop digital repository of information for filming in India.
Until now, International and Indian filmmakers (and/or their representatives) visit offices of Chief Public Relations Officers of 17 Zonal Railways and Railway Board (New Delhi) to submit applications for seeking film shooting permissions in Railways.  Now after enabling FFO web portal (www.ffo.gov.in ) as single window facilitator, filmmakers can submit online applications for filming at various railway locations falling under jurisdiction of even more than one zonal railways in a centralized way. Once the application has been submitted, the concerned Officers in the Zonal Railways will be notified and they can access applications on FFO portal and upload permissions after due process of approval. This portal also provides a platform to the applicant as well as the permission granting authority to raise and address any queries regarding the application for transparent and timely execution of the shooting permission request.
The objective of the integration is to reduce the number of windows that producers have toaccess to get permissions for filming in various locations. The portal also provides a platform to theapplicant as well as the permission granting authority to raise and address any queries regarding theapplication. This transparent ecosystem enables time bound execution of the shooting permissionrequest.
Shri Suneet Sharma, Chairman & CEO, Railway Board said "Indian Railways share a long association with Indian Cinema and it has always lent support to Indian Cinema for shooting of various movies, songs and documentaries. Indian Cinema has suitably reciprocated by showcasing Railways in a proper and aesthetic manner. This new ecosystem will service filmmakers across geographies. We welcome filmmakers to apply online for filming in various Railways premises and hope that the Railways will continue to be featured as a vibrant character in screenplays and narratives".
In this regard, Shri Apurva Chandra, Secretary 1&B said, "The idea is to create value for filmmakers by way of easing filming across various jurisdictions like the Railways, which offer unique, distinctive locations that enhance the filming narrative. Our effort to integrate with various stakeholders is towards this endeavor. The Railways have always been an important part of India's cinematic history and filmmakers must leverage this newly created ecosystem to weave India's sprawling and picturesque Railway network into their narrative".
The FFO portal www.ffo.gov.in shall accept applications for Feature Films, TV/Web shows and series on behalf of Railways. For documentary/music videos and AV commercials, producers may apply to the Railways directly.

Good news is coming for the railway passengers. Now the policy of reservation in general coach will not be applicable. During the increasing effect of Kovid-19, the policy of reservation was implemented in general coaches also so that the train does not get crowded.

the era of Covid 19, the railways had implemented the reservation policy in general class coaches to control the crowd. Under which the number of seats in the general class coaches will be given to the same number of passengers. But as the infection of covid 19 has decreased, protests have started regarding it. In such a situation, it is believed that the railway management can amend its earlier rule from November 1. Under which the general class coaches can be operated as before.

This policy of railway has been opposed

Even though the railways was successful in preventing the spread of the infection of covid 19, but due to this, the common passengers have to face a lot of trouble. They are not allowed to board the train without a reserved ticket. There was a lot of uproar in the Western Railway zone regarding this and the passenger demanded to restore the arrangement of the East. Passengers argued that in case of emergency when they do not get a ticket in Sleeper or First Class AC, then they are left with the only option to travel in the normal class but due to the new arrangement they are not able to travel.

Railway has indicated that rules may change from November 1

After the uproar in the Western Railway, railway officials have indicated that there may be relaxation in the rules from November 1. However, the officials are still not saying that the old system will be restored from November 1 or some other rules will be made. Because under the current arrangement, passengers will have to first reserve their tickets for traveling in general class also. Their tickets will be checked before the journey, only after which they will be allowed to travel.
