The commuters traveling on the Harbour line between Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Panvel will now be able to travel in comfort, as the Central Railway has decided to introduce 12 AC local train services on the Harbour line from December 1, 2021.

At present, 10 AC local train services are available on the Central line between CSMT-Kalyan, 16 on the Trans-Harbour line and 20 such services are available on the Western line.

The Central Railway has also decided to implement a revised time-table for local trains on the Mumbai suburban network’s Harbour line, Trans-Harbour line and the Fourth Corridor from Belapur/Nerul-Kharkopar line from December 1, 2021.

An official said that all CSMT-Andheri local train services and Panvel-Andheri services will be extended to and from Goregaon station.

According to the officials, the total number of services from/to Goregaon will increase from 42 to 106 and the total number of services from/to Bandra will be 86, making it possible for commuters to seamlessly travel from Navi Mumbai and the Central line to the western suburbs.

The total number of services on the Harbour line will remain 614 and that on the Trans-Harbour line will remain 262. Further, the total number of suburban services in the Mumbai Division will continue to be 1,774.

Anil Kumar Lahoti, the general manager of the Central Railway, said, “The extension of Panvel-Andheri and CSMT-Andheri services to and from Goregaon will help passengers save time and travel seamlessly between Navi Mumbai and Mumbai.”

The official said 44 services are currently available between the CSMT and Andheri and these will be extended to and from Goregaon.

At present, only 42 services are available between the CSMT and Goregaon.

Eighteen services presently available between Panvel and Andheri will be extended to and from Goregaon and two trains services currently running between the CSMT and Bandra will be extended to and from Goregaon.

Services originating from Mankhurd will now run from platform no. 2 instead of platform no. 3.

TBR-1 Belapur local leaving Thane at 10.40 hrs and TBR-3 Belapur local leaving Thane at 23.14 hrs will now run up to Panvel.

1.52 lakh crore in a period of four years till fiscal 2025. Indian Railways assets would contribute 26% of the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP), worth Rs 6 lakh crore, unveiled by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday.

Some of the key rail assets identified for monetisation during FY22-25 include 90 passenger trains, 400 railway stations, one route of 1,400 kilometres railway track, 15 railway stadiums, 741 kilometres of Konkan Railway and selected railway colonies, as many as 265 railway owned good-sheds, as well as four hill railways. In the four years’ duration, monetising stations and passenger train services is expected to fetch approximately an amount of Rs 76,250 crore and Rs 21,642 crore, respectively. Monetising 673 kilometres of Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) would fetch an amount of Rs 20,178 crore, while track, signalling, and overhead equipment (Track OHE) are estimated to fetch Rs 18,700 crore.

Konkan Railways’ monetisation value is estimated at Rs 7,281 crore, while hill railways’ value is Rs 630 crore. The 265 identified railway owned good-sheds for monetisation are expected to garner Rs 5,565 crore, while the amount for railway colonies redevelopment would be Rs 2,250 crore. The NMP document stated that the Indicative Monetisation Value is estimated at an amount of Rs 1,52,496 crore over the NMP period Financial year 2022-25. Of this, an amount of Rs 17,810 crore would be monetised this financial year, Rs 57,222 crore in the next financial year 2022-23, Rs 44,907 crore in fiscal 2023-24 and Rs 32,557 crore in fiscal 2024-25.

Central Railway has decided to restore services of superfast weekly AC special on normal fare between LTT and Karmali (Goa) to clear the extra rush of passengers during Ganpati festival. “The train will have halts en route at Thane, Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali and Kudal. It will have a First AC, three AC 2-tier, 15 AC 3-tier and a pantry car,” said CR chief spokesperson Shivaji Sutar.
The train 01015 special will leave LTT every Thursday at 12.50 am from September 2 till further advice and arrive at Karmali at 12.20 pm same day. The train 01016 special will leave Karmali at 1 pm every Thursday from September 2 onwards, , an official said

Vistadome coaches for the first time in SWR are introduced on the picturesque Yesvantpur – Mangaluru Jn route!






The Vistadome coach covers a distance of 413 km from Yesvantpur to Mangaluru. For better ride comfort, bogies have been provided with air-spring suspension in the secondary stage. Inside the Vistadome coach, large glass windows and glass roof have been equipped with electrically controlled opalescence. It boasts a transparent roof for the travelling passengers to get a panoramic view of their train journey. There is also an observatory lounge with large window at one end. The coach has been provided with GPS-based Public address cum Passenger Information System. The ergonomically designed ritzy reclining seats are rotatable up to 180 degrees, enabling passengers to enjoy spectacular views from all directions while travelling. For each passenger, a charging socket has been provided below the seat armrest.
