Hyderabad-Kurnool road aimed at developing an industrial hub
Another plan in the offing is to lay Hyderabad-Amaravati road
Hyderabad: The State governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are all set to discuss a plan to lay a four-lane road between Hyderabad and Kurnool to form an Industrial Hub. This would be further extended via Chitradurga upto Pune, for free movement of goods to access the sea port at Mumbai.
According

to sources, "The plan will bring Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on board as to realise the proposed move needed for developing areas falling in both the States, besides Karnataka." At present the route from Pune to Hyderabad is not that feasible for speedy transportation of goods, and "if the industrial hub plan between Kurnool - Hyderabad is developed then it would benefit both the States," said a senior official from the State Planning Department.
The proposed move was to access the existing markets accessible to both the Telugu-speaking States. In addition to this, another plan is in the offing to develop Amravati – Hyderabad road link with four-lane, and also Machilipatnam - Amaravati link with another four-lane road.
This whole planning would make both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, to access on one hand the Machilipatnam Port, and on the other, the Mumbai port. This would help the proposed industrial hubs in both the States to export goods through sea route.
Also, proposals were approved to lay four-lane and six-lane road connectivity to the hinterlands in the Chittoor district. This was to develop connectivity to Krishnapatnam - Bangalore, via Naidupet. All these are short-term projects with time-bound action plans, if completed, then Telangana would benefit in exporting its goods via Kurnool, Chitradurga, Pune and Mumbai route, as well as Hyderabad-Machilipatnam route.
Similarly, AP’s new capital Amaravati will have access to Hyderabad-Pune and Mumbai, via Kurnool and Chitradurga. Also, Amaravati-Machilipatnam, Amravati-Kadapa-Kurnool-Anantapur and Bangalore corridor.

It is actually 6 lane proposal , already there is a 4 lane between hyderabad and kurnool..
But still SCR is not doing enough for doubling this route whereas NHAI is making 6 lanes.. How bad on SCR part

KURNOOL: Kurnool, the capital of erstwhile Andhra state, continues to get a raw deal even after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. Several projects announced for Kurnool are yet to take off. The previous UPA-2 government had sanctioned a mega railway project for Kurnool district. A year has passed since the central government cleared the project and yet there are no signs of it taking off. Foundation stone was laid for a `coach mid-life rehabilitation workshop' between Panchalingala and E Thandrapadu. It is the only one of its kind railway project in south India. The Kurnool district administration has sanctioned funds for land acquisition. But the work goes on at a snail's pace.
The proposed project will help people not only in Kurnool

but also in neighbouring Mahbubnagar district of Telangana state. When completed, it will provide employment to about 3,000 people.
Thanks to inordinate delay, the project cost has escalated to Rs 281 crore from the original estimate of Rs 110 crore. "This is not the only project that has remained on paper. Many projects proposed in Kurnool and other Rayalaseema districts have been pending for long. In fact, Rayalaseema continues to get a raw deal. While the state government has announced several mega projects for various districts, it failed to give importance to Kurnool and other areas in the backward Rayalaseema. The only place in Rayalaseema that has been getting the government's attention is Tirupati," said local businessman K Aravind. Kurnool MP Butta Renuka said the central government has released only Rs 10 crore after several appeals. It is about to release another Rs 12 crore. At this rate, the project may not be ready in the next three years. "This is the only major railway project announced for Rayalaseema. After my election to the Lok Sabha, I have taken up the issue. But things are moving at a snail's pace," she pointed out.
She said 144 acres of land is required for the project. But land owners have been demanding higher compensation. "The Centre should intervene and pay compensation to the land owners. Further delay will only escalate the project cost," she said.
Local youth point out that the project will help them a lot as it will create scores of ancillary units, which will boost employment opportunities in Rayalaseema. "We have many ITI colleges in the district. They will supply qualified technicians to the railway unit," said a local youth S Mallikarjun of B Camp area in the town.

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory authority for generation of non-tariff revenue and creation of assets for Indian Railways, has finalised developers and sites have been awarded to them for setting up multi-functional complexes (MFCs) at seven stations in the South Central Railway (SCR) zone.
These will be developed at Dharmavaram, Kache-guda, Karimnagar, Nellore, Nizamabad, Vijayawada and Zahirabad stations at a cost of Rs 22.34 crore.
The SCR stated the MFCs would provide facilities including shopping, restaurants, book stalls, PCO booths, ATMs, medical and other stores, budget hotels, food plaza and parking spaces to rail users. These sites are being offered on 30-45 years lease through the open bidding process to the private sector.
In all, 13 stations have been identified in the SCR zone for the development of MFCs, including the seven stations. Among the others, the MFCs at Hyderabad and Rajahmundry have already been constructed and leased out. MFCs at Aurangabad and Guntur are ready for commercialisation. The MFCs at Kurnool and Nanded are under process of tendering to finalise agencies for taking up development works.
