Electrification of the Shornur-Nilambur rail route is nearing completion, enabling the potential launch of an 8-bogie Shornur-Nilambur MEMU service. A revised timetable next month will improve connections, including a night train from Shornur to Nilambur returning by 3 am, connecting with various trains including Vande Bharat, Jan Shatabdi, and several others arriving at Shornur. The improved connectivity addresses current difficulties faced by passengers missing the 8:10 pm last train from Shornur to Nilambur, and enhances connections to other routes, including those to Mangaluru and Chennai.
