govt. to share the expediture for Manmad-Malegaon-Dhule-Indore new line.
CR today sent proposal of Rotegaon-Kopargaon Chordline to Railway Board instead of Rotegaon-Puntamba rly line as traffic survey showed 5% loss with unnecessary expenditure. CR said that this line will have following advantages. Work will start after approval of ministry. (I think no survey is required for chord line, I am not sure). This information was provided by president of Marathwada Railway Vikas Samati Mr. Omprakash Warma when he had discussion with railway board in Delhi.
1. AWB- PUNE distance will be reduced by 90 km.
2. Will create short cut for Shirdi bound trains from AP as well as from AWB to western Maharashtra
3. Load on MMR station will come down.
4. Increase in tourism in AWB-PUNE-GOA circuit.

An old photo of Rail Roko Andolan at Aurangabad Railway Station performed by Shivasena in early 90s for conversion of MMR-KCG line from MG to BG.
FYI: 1st AWB-CSTM BG train started in 1993.
Please note the loco shed. Its YDM 4A of PURNA Loco Shed. SCR had unnecessarily scraped this loco shed. Loco failure problem is regular matter in this division now.
