Hope it happens on 22-23 but track work at DAL was going on when I visited there last, don't know if they have completed it. Plus all other technical works on the entire section. Level crossing too have to be fully done. Only then CRS can give it's ok to use the track for passenger trains
Finally the D day has come when NER has taken mega block to link tracks at STP/Sitapur. 20 hours of 2 day long mega block been taken (10 hour's each day) where new track (coming from ASH/Aishbagh) will be linked to existing track (coming from BUW/Burhwal). Post mega block which is part of ASH-STP GC any train coming from LJN-ASH-LC-DAL can go to SPN-MB via STP/SCC along with MLN-PBE route and any train coming from GKP-GD-BUW can also go to MLN-PBE route along with SPN-MB route and vice versa. Now STP/Sitapur will have 5 BG line. Have a look of small glimpse of mega block.
Mega block was milestone for ASH-STP GC which has been achieved on 10 & 11-Oct moreover freight trains are regularly running so if CRS is planned on 23 & 24 including speed trial on 25-Oct then it would be awesome news for said section. Only worry is commencement coz in IR many sections been open after many months of successful CRS.
