Sampreeti Setu is a continuous type steel bridge
Also "Spherical bearing" has been introduced for the first time in Indian Railways on this bridge
Jubilee bridge has "pendulum bearings", not found in any other bridge of India
The bridge had to be decommissioned as the pendulum bearings at Naihati end developed cracks
