With short distance fast connectivity Govt must also think about long distance end to end fast connectivity which can only be done by removing/ introducing trains with unnecessary/impractical stoppages like Mamta Benerjee did and introduced Duronto. Beacuse flight is still costly for a common man. A duronto type fast train with 5-6 stoppage is required between Kolkata and ASR.

Bro trains like Durgiana introduced for end to end passengers, Beas is like you book in a train to DDN and get down at Haridwar. There are large number of passengers who go to Beas from Calcutta, when Beas wasn't a halt a large number of Beas passenger had to deboard at Jallandhar and ASR.

I agree and trains like the Akal Takht and Durgiana Express were initially launched with end-to-end passengers' fast connectivity but politics from intermediate states ruined such ER SFs in the years gone by.. we need some concept like Navsthan (9 places) Express where the commercial (including technical) halts are fixed for such trains and there's zero scope for experi 'mental' stoppages, especially if they are politically motivated! :-P
