tough there are number of buses running with frequency of 30 mins there are few factors which need to be seen for travellers to switch mode of transport which they have been using for last few years. Are all the stations close to road points and close to village hamlets, end to end traffic, distance between consecutive stations, then timings of train service all effect the occupancy and switching from bus to train. if the traffic pattern is like people are travelling from villages enroute to Hubli/Dharwad for business and office purpose then leaving Dandeli in morning and reaching at 10AM will have good turnout and evening 1800 to Dandeli. Local people needs have to be met more then tourists needs for success of trains.
Agree on your point. Instead of just rake utilization, swr should think other way. That is why also suggested in another blog to utilize cancelled rakes of 56921/2 on the same timings morning 7 am departure from Dandeli and evening 6 pm departure from Ubl, this way it will be more useful. This particular train can run entirely like Sur-Ambevadi-Sur passenger. In this way two trains will be ensured.
