#BDR Masagram - Bankura route
➡️One of unique location to me where ER & SER meet as Masagram/ER & Masagram Jn./SER
➡️The terminal end of the Bankura Damodar Railway (BDR) is Masagram Jn./SER.From here passengers have to change to the ER station!
➡️The BDR (common name) operates Four pair DEMU trains, having a crossing station at Sonamukhi,as the whole route "HAS NO SIGNALS"
Two years ago crossing station at Beliator and Rainagar have been approved but no constructive step has not been taken yet. In fact still rainagar is an crossing station with optimum length. Before connection with Masagram, Rainagar was terminating point with a loop fir engine reversal of passenger train as well as balast laden goods train.
Once this route get connected with Howrah-Barddhaman chord line at Masagram, there will be huge development in this Bankura-Masagram route. Number of Express trains , passenger trains and Goods train will increase. No of crossing stations will also increase, also doubling work will be done in future.
I personally do not see a lot of potential on this route. Maybe 4-5 pair of local trains and 2 pair of express trains to HWH (if slots are available) will run on this section. I don't see goods train using these tracks, because there is no big industrial area on the section. Also, this is the ADRA division, if there was a chance of running goods train it would have done ran by now.
