One reason could be bus lobby between hyderabad and vijaywada. Doubling this route could reduce the travel time between these 2 cities and thus making the journey faster which will lead to heavy losses to Bus Operators.
There are a lot of factors for people to prefer Bus journey. Proximity of pickup points close to Housing localities around which the travellers live. Instead travelling all the way to SC to board the train they board them at their convenience right from BHEL, Miyapur KPHB, ameerpet, LKapul, Dilsuknagar, LB nagar and Vanadthalipuram. Each availability of seats even on last minute planning on the day of journey, convenient arrival time at 500-700 all through the city are playing high for bus travel. These travellers prefer mode of transport is road and they will not come back to rail. Now there are sleeper buses where you can choose your berth. With all these factors road transport has created a segment of travellers as their preferred mode. Most 9f them are between 20-35 who travel in single or double with short planning.
