Any BE rf aware of this track ?
Wat is meant for ?
It is unlikely that it was ever used by any trains.
The Clutterbuckgunj sleeper treatment plant was opened in 1954-55. The factory had two lines coming into it, a BG line from the Bareilly-Moradabad line and an MG line from Izzatnagar.
Although the atlas shows it as a line under GC, they were just sidings for the factory and no through traffic ever ran over the entire length, as at least at the time of construction, the lines on either side of the factory were of different gauges, making through running of
The line takes you to the (Now inactive) Railways sleeper factory for both NR and NER tracks(From CB gunj side and IZN side). Although not very useful, the train can be used to bypass Bareilly from Delhi towards kathgodam and PBE.
As the link is already available at Rampur from Moradabad Bareilly line towards Kumaon Ramnagar/Kathgodam region, this defunct line has no meaning.
Additional point, this line criss cross the existing NH 24 and thus a new Road bridge will be needed, if at all Railway wants to use this line.
The points you made are entirely correct. Although, the line already cuts through the Bareilly - Nainital state highway and due to the rare times the gates need to be closed, an overbridge will not be needed. The line can help steer Delhi bound trains from PBE, STP to bypass Bareilly and save around 30 minutes. Can also be used if derailment etc happens at BE like it has been in the past, stopping the traffic.
