"A table joined to the side of a mountain" - that's how this planned - later abandoned station looks like.
.
This station along with 4 others were meant to be crossing points. These were the only places available on this ghat for building a station ( for operations) and for crossing of trains.
Freights are neither allowed from SKLR...
more... to descend or allowed to ascend from SBHR when any passenger train is on the ghat. So basically a block of 2.5 Hours for them when any passenger ascends/descends.
But nowadays only the another passenger is allowed to cross at one of the intermediate station.
.
This station was planned as one for crossing, but later abandoned with the few buildings being used for the workers. (Workers all along the way, live in small sheet covered huts as seen in one pic. With a kerosene lamp to give them warmth and light.)
.
There is a narrow land where the train approaches and then along the side an abandoned track starts. Then the train enters a tunnel 26/57 - which has one side with the mountain and the other just nothing . The other side of the tunnel the track runs along. Besides the tunnel is the track and besides that is a building which workers use and beyond that is sheer drop.
Farther other mountains and a river can be seen.
The track runs further till a bridge and then stops. Now the abandoned track is overgrown with banana plant, other plants and grass.
A scenic place to stay, if you are one of the workers, but totally cut off from the world.
