He inspected the entire station, including the circulating area, parking area, and the northern and southern entry paths of the station. He also reviewed the ongoing redevelopment work of Naugachia station. He informed the local reporters that the development of Naugachia station is being carried out at a cost of 30 crores. This includes a new station building on the south side, a new 12-foot wide FOB, escalator, lift, large waiting hall, a new and large parking area, and beautification of the entire area. He mentioned that local folk culture will be incorporated in the construction of the new station and replicas of local famous places will be installed. The General Manager appealed to local traders to increase freight traffic. He emphasized the need to increase the loading of local products like bananas, maize, fox nuts, and other local produce from Naugachia to boost the region's development. He stated that while the railway usually books full rakes for loading, it can also provide half rakes for booking if local traders wish to transport non-traditional goods. Local residents and representatives met with the officer, raising demands for improvements at Naugachia station. Ismailpur's Zilla Parishad member, Vipin Mandal, requested a written ban on the public slaughter of mutton, fish, and chicken outside the Naugachia railway station to create a model station. He also demanded the inclusion of trains like Karmabhoomi Express and Agartala Express, which currently skip Naugachia, arguing that it would directly benefit people from Bhagalpur, Banka, and Madhepura. BJP leader Mukesh Rana urged the General Manager to recognize the significance of Bihuli Bishhari, a local site, and suggested incorporating paintings related to Bihuli Bishhari at the station. The General Manager explained that the station's look and other arrangements will be revamped. He affirmed that the station, which receives prestigious trains like Rajdhani Express, will be developed into a model station. The station's entrance will feature local temples and shrines, reflecting the area's identity. The General Manager also visited Katihar Semapur station, where he inspected the crew lobby, running room, and kitchen, evaluating the quality of food and interacting with railway employees to understand the amenities provided. He thoroughly inspected the cleanliness, catering services, circulating area, and other aspects related to passenger convenience and safety at Semapur station. He also personally tested the quality of drinking water available for passengers. Finally, he inspected Kursela station.
