The detailed project report (DPR) on a new railway terminal at Naganahalli, entailing the creation of additional infrastructure for Mysuru, will be submitted to the Railway Board in November.
This was stated at a division-level meeting of railway officials with MPs within the jurisdiction of Mysuru railway division on Tuesday.
The project is of special importance to Mysuru city as the existing railway station is saturated and cannot handle the projected growth of traffic envisaged consequent to the completion of track doubling and electrification work. The project was approved in the
Pune is also most saturated one now so they demanding to upgrade shivajinagar and hadapsar as new terminals for that they extended habibganj pune train up to hubli later to dharwad u might know that. And also interesting is pune also handle local trains with just 6 Platforms with other trains.
Actually CR delayed it alot, almost from a decade on this new terminal near Pune, otherwise by now Hadapsar/Khadki would have been new terminal with at-least 4 PF's
Not CR it's Railway board need to sanction funds and work for such things but han CR been late to demand new terminal for pune city but then too I appreciate their way of controlling trains at pune both long distance passing, originating and local trains their and yup pune really need bigger terminal for present and future estimated traffic.
Because of this there are not much originating trains towards south from Pune. We need Pune-Ypr/Mas/Ubl/Tvc/Vsg/Maq, etc
Yes we need pune UBL ,YPR one via bijapur solapur also not only via Miraj. 😉

this is media press release copy which has been shared by a media person in our FB group
Good TT change for most of them and for few of them bit disappointing. Overall 8/10
Also they could have easily speeded up YPR-BKN Biweekly exp and YPR-Harihar-YPR exp. YPR- HRR exp has too low patronage due to bad timings and too much travel time.
Change in time of 56205 (NTW - MYS Passenger) is a disappointment. 56025 was acting as a connecting train to 12613 (Tippu Express to SBC, which departs @ 11:15 AM). Now, we have 5 minutes gap between arrival of 56205 and departure of 12613......
The waiting time for Bengaluru–Karwar Express train at Mysuru will be reduced by 30 minutes from April 8, and consequently the journey time will come down.
The train arrives in Mysuru at 10.40 p.m. and leaves at 11.30 p.m. Commuters had been complaining about this long waiting time, which had led to increase in the journey time. From April 8, the train will arrive at Mysuru at 11.10 p.m. and leave at 11.30 p.m.
The train splits after reaching Mangaluru and a few coaches go to Kannur and others to Karwar.
excellent decision. It is a much needed change.
It'll reach before time for sure.
The 16518 also waits at MAQ for 2hrs. No change for that.
Similarly long wait for the CHALUKYA expresses Mumbai-Yeswanthpur-Puducherryy / Tirunelveli in YESWANTHPUR also reduced for the convenience of the long distance passenger.
