The New Train via Bogibeel Bridge will leave Dekargaon at 06.20 hrs in morning to reach Dibrugarh at 13.50 hrs. In return Direction the train will depart Dibrugarh at 15.00 hrs to reach Dekargaon at 22.40 hrs. It will have 4 reserved second class chair cars &5 unreserved general coaches.With the introduction of this service the connectivity betn. two impt.cities in the state will get a boost.

Modi had inaugurated the country’s longest rail-road bridge at Bogibeel near Dibrugarh in Assam over the Brahmaputra on 25 December. Regular service of the Silghat-Kolkata express train will begin from Kolkata from 7 January and from Silghat from the next day, a NF Railway spokesman said. It would bring in transformation of middle Assam areas through better communication with the rest of the country and would be beneficial for improving trade and commerce in middle Assam areas, Gohain said. The new train consists of 19 new state-of-the-art Linke Hofmann Busch coaches with modern amenities and facilities for passengers. Tourists to Kaziranga wildlife sanctuary would be benefitted by the introduction of the new train as it will have stops at nearby Amoni and Jakhalabandha, he added. He said a Delhi-bound and south bound trains will also be considered for introduction from Silghat soon. Gohain also announced an award of Rs two lakh to the Lumding railway division for excellent work of providing facilities in record time. The Silghat-Kolkata Express will leave Silghat at 12.30 pm on Tuesdays to reach Kolkata at 12.50 pm the next day. During the return journey the train will leave Kolkata at 9.05 am on Monday and reach Silghat at 9-55 am on Tuesday, a Railways spokesman said. The train will have stops at Jakhalabandha, Amoni, Nowgong, Senchoa, Chaparmukh, Jagiroad, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Goalpara Town, New Bongaigaon, Fakiragram, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Bolpur and Barddhaman during its journey on both ways. The train will have one AC 2 tier, four AC 3 tier, eight sleeper class and four general second class coaches apart from two luggage-cum-generator vans, he added.

DELHI, July 20: The Railway Ministry has confirmed having received a number of petitions demanding revival of the Tezpur (old) Railway Station under NF Railway in Assam. In a Lok Sabha reply to a question by RP Sharma, Minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain said that a few representations have been received including a reference from Chief Minister, Assam on the revival of Tezpur (old) station. Dekargaon railway station is located at a distance of about seven kilometres from Tezpur town. Dekargaon-Tezpur town, part of the metre gauge track, was not converted to broad gauge at the request of the then Assam Government. Reconnection of Tezpur town to Dekargaon has been mooted subsequently, Gohain said.
To cater the increasing demands of accommodation during the Puja holidays, Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run special trains between Naharlagun (Itanagar) and Dekargaon (Tezpur) on an experimental basis for a period of three months w.e.f. 10-09-2015 to 30-11-2015 in addition to the normal train services between Naharlagun and Dekargaon. Accordingly, train number 05618 will leave from Naharlagun daily at 08-00 hrs. to arrive Dekargaon at 13-30hrs. While, train number 05617 will leave Dekargaon at 14-15 hrs. to arrive Naharlagun at 19-15 hrs. The train will stop at Rangapara North, Balipara, Nizchatia, Vishwanath Charali, Helem, Gohpur, Tatibahar, Harmuti and Gumto stations both ways. AC 2 tier, AC 3 tier, sleeper class and general second class accommodations are available.
