Indore: In view of growing number of passengers and rising demand, Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan urged railway minister Suresh Prabhu to start trains for Bhopal, Hyderabad and Jannagnathpuri from the city. Putting forward the demands to the minister, Mahajan also suggested ways to make the project feasible by planning wise diversion of routes of some of the proposed trains.
Citing the plight of regular passengers, who have to travel to other cities to catch trains for Hyderabad and Jagannathpuri in absence of direct train to the cities from Indore, Mahajan asked Prabhu to consider rolling out of the railway services with seriousness.

despite Indore and Hyderabad both being prominent Information Technology destinations of the country, unfortunately, there is only a single direct train (Indore-Yashwantpur Express), which runs between the two cities.
Explaining the practicability of the project, Mahajan suggested that the Ajmer-Hyderabad express, which presently runs through Ratlam, Nagda, Ujjain and Bhopal, can be run via Indore by diverting its route via Ratlam, Fatehabad, Indore, Dewas, Maxi and Bhopal to establish connectivity with the Capital. She further reminded the minister that the proposal sent by Ratlam division of Western Railway to the railway board in this regard was yet to receive approval and urged him to provide necessary approvals at the earliest to begin operations of the trains after a quick revision.
Indore-Bhopal non-stop
LS speaker demanded that a non-stop train between Bhopal and Indore should be rolled out at the earliest. Reminding the promise of introducing alternate train after terminating the operation of Indore-Bhopal double decker train, she said that now a non-stop Indore-Bhopal-Indore via Dewas-Maxi should be rolled out, which would start from Bhopal in morning and arrive to the city in evening to again depart for the state Capital. She has also expressed hope that the minister will pay attention to her demands of intercity passenger train for Indore-Surat and Vadodra to take favourable action.
Indore-Jagannathpuri holiday special
Reminding the minister about her pending demand of rolling out direct train between Indore and one of the biggest Hindu pilgrimages, Jagannathpuri in Odisha, Mahajan asked the railway minister to run Bhopal-Jagannathpuri Holiday special trains from the city.

जयपुर से दक्षिण भारत के लिए चलने वाली ट्रेन वाया कोटा नागदा भोपाल होकर निकल जाती है अहमदाबाद से वह जोधपुर से दक्षिण भारत के लिए चलने वाली ट्रेन वाया बड़ौदा सूरत पुणे होकर निकल जाती है इसी प्रकार इंदौर से चलने वाली ट्रेन वाया देवास उज्जैन भोपाल होकर निकल जाती है एवम कुछ ट्रेन वाया देवास मक्सी होकर सीधे निकल जाती है अजमेर से चलने वाली ट्रेन को भी लंबे रूट वाया चित्तौड़गढ़ कोटा नागदा भोपाल होकर निकाल दिया जाता है ऐसी स्थिति में रतलाम जंक्शन की स्थिति एक टापू के समान हो गई है इसका नुकसान रतलाम के साथ दाहोद नीमच मंदसौर के साथ प्रतापगढ़ एवं बांसवाड़ा जिले के लोगों को भी हो रहा है मंदसौर नीमच प्रतापगढ़ बांसवाड़ा के लोगों को नागदा जाकर ट्रेन पकड़ना बहुत मुश्किल भरा काम होता है

We cannot compare Pune Mumbai with Bhopal Indore. Those cities are much bigger cities and have much more population but I agree ki ek extra Intercity honi chaahie Bhopal to Indore.

New projects have reduced the importance of UJN jun
(1) Dewas-Maksi has brought UJN out of BPL-INDB high traffic potential route. Routing the train to longer route via UJN drive the paxs to taxis/buses. Any INDB-BPL train has to go via Makis-Dewas chord. BPL-UJN-NAD-RTM intercity may be operated subject to patronage.
(2) GC of Ratlam-INDB shorter route have removed UJN from INDB-Mumbai/Pune route. Duronto must be diverted to new shorter route. Any new INDB-Pune/Mumbai train shall follow the shorter route.

See brother, Indore always has good road connectivity and bcoz of gauge conversion is not done properly Indore is facing this.
For Indore Bhopal there so much traffic but no train is right time. I know Pune Mumbai canot be compared but the way trains function can be the good example for all the cities where these kind of train are require.

Waste proposal, she should concentrate fully on GC of Indore khandwa and get a dedicated train for same to Hyderabad and Pune. After her lobby I think no minister will be taking charge of completing that project.

Even Mumbai-Pune intercity traffic is also not fully tapped by IR, else there would have been a train every hour between the two cities. Here too longer railroute 192km (road route-160km), railroute is curvy with ghat sections.
A straight rail route (vashi-pune straight ) using longer tunnels could be about 130-150kms with a travel time of just about 1.5hrs with 130/160kmph trains and about 2-2.5 hrs with LHB SF trains.

Those 2 dedicated Trains between Bhopal and Indore are one of the most Punctual trains they rarely gets late. If you consider Bhopal Indore Express (formely Fast Passenger) despite of Arriving late at Bhopal it manages to Reach Indore by minimal delay. For Ujjain we have Bhopal-Ujjain Passenger acting as Intercity from Bhopal and Jaipur-Bhopal Express act as Intercity from Ratlam,Nagda,Ujjain to Bhopal.
Old Indore Bhopal Intercity took route via Ujjain and was mostly unpunctual reaching Bhopal after 12pm and on return journey it never reaches Indore before 10pm. Current route is better and Never fails to deliver a great connection between two most imp cities of MP.

Indore: Railway projects worth thousands of crores hit the roadblock due to inordinate delay in land acquisition. At least three projects in the division fall victim to such delays, which may overrun the estimated budget.
In a meeting held in September 2016 with high-ranking officials of the railways and district collectors, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan instructed them to complete the task of land acquisition for Indore-Dahod and Dhar-Chhota Udaipur new rail line and Mhow-Khandwa gauge conversion projects within six months. Ajit Singh Narang of Malwa Chamber of Commerce and Industries, who is also a member of Western Railway’s Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) and Jagmohan Verma, member of WR ZRUCC, expressed regret over slow pace of working of officials of the railway and district administration.
They said Indore-Dahod and Dhar-Chhota Udaipur new rail line project had to be completed by 2011, as while laying the foundation stone of the project in 2008 the then Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh had announced to complete the project in the scheduled period.
Similarly, the gauge conversion work of Mhow-Khandwa section had to be completed much earlier. But due to inordinate delay in land acquisition and not finalising alignment of the track in Mhow-Sanawad section, the project is getting delayed. Both the members of WR’s ZRUCC inform that the delay would escalate the project cost.
Narang and Verma said they requested Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Dubey to take note of the situation and held a meeting of all stake holders to review the progress of work and instruct officials to solve land acquisition matter soon.

Indore : Two city-bound trains were delayed on Saturday following damage in a small bridge near Khacrod.
According to official information, wall of a bridge between Khachrod and Berabanya railway station developed cracks affecting train movements on up track.
City-bound 12962 Mumbai-Indore Avantika Express and 19312 Pune-Indore Express were delayed by 1.30 hours and 50 minutes respectively following the damage of bridge.

10 trains had to stop at Ujjain and Nagda railway station for around three hours due to the problem. Official sources said that due to cracks in one side of the bridge, trains were allowed to pass the bridge with speed of 20 km per hour.

इंदौर रेलवे स्टेशन के प्लेटफॉर्म मानकों के अनुसार नहीं बनाए गए हैं। जब गाड़ी रुकती है तो डिब्बों की दूरी प्लेटफॉर्म से दो फीट तक होती है। इस कारण यात्रियों को चढ़ने-उतरने में दिक्कत होती है। यात्रियों के फिसलकर ट्रैक पर गिरने की कई घटनाएं हो चुकी हैं। फिर भी ध्यान नहीं दिया जा रहा है।

पर लक्ष्मी पति भरत नाम की महिला डेढ़ वर्षीय बच्चे के साथ पैर फिसलने के कारण गिर गई थी। हालांकि दोनों की जान बच गई थी। मंडल के जनसंपर्क अधिकारी जेके जयंत के मुताबिक प्लेटफॉर्म और ट्रेन के डिब्बे की दूरी यदि ज्यादा है तो इसकी जांच कर अधिकारियों तक रिपोर्ट पहुंचाई जाएगी। इसके बाद इसे ठीक करने के लिए कहा जाएगा।
