Central Railway has said that 900 trips have been completed by running Kisan Rail from Savda to Adarsh Nagar Delhi on January 1, 2022. This is benefiting both the farmers and the consumers. On one hand farmers are getting good price and on the other hand consumers are getting fresh fruits and vegetables. Kisan Rail has become an engine of growth and prosperity for the people of rural Maharashtra. This initiative of Railways is proving to be a game changer for the farmers. Kisan Rail remains the choice of farmers of Maharashtra due to ensuring access to bigger and newer markets for agricultural produce, fast transport, zero wastage and 50% subsidy in transportation.

more... said that since the launch of the first Kisan Rail, the Central Railway has completed 900 trips and transported 3,10,400 tonnes of perishable agricultural products. The 100th Kisan Rail was run in Central Railway on 7th August 2020 and on 28th December 2020. Which was flagged off by the Prime Minister through weblink. The 500th service of Kisan Rail started on 12 August 2021. Now the 900th service of Kisan Rail left from Savda for Adarsh Nagar, Delhi on 1 January 2022. It has proved to be very helpful for the farmers.

Pomegranate, Grapes, Lemon, Capsicum, Musk Melon, Guava, Sitaphal, Ber (Indian plum) from Solapur region, Flowers from Latur and Osmanabad region, Onion from Nashik region, Banana from Bhusaval and Jalgaon region, Oranges from Nagpur region and others Commodities reach far and wide markets like Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal quickly and freshly through Kisan Rail.
Both farmers and consumers are benefiting from this reach. Due to direct access of these agricultural products in big markets, farmers are getting good money. The transportation cost is less by Kisan Rail as compared to trucks. Their produce has a good price, quick transportation and minimum wastage.
50% subsidy to farmers
The government has expanded Operation Green from Tomato, Onion and Potato to all other fruits and vegetables (TOTAL) under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Under this, 50 percent subsidy is being given for the transportation fare in the market less than surplus. Because of this, railways became the first choice of farmers for their transportation. Let us inform that for the top to total scheme, the central government has made a provision of Rs 500 crore.

Central Railway currently runs 6 Kisan Rails. Devlali-Muzaffarpur, Sangola-Muzaffarpur, Sangola-Adarsh Nagar Delhi, Sangola-Shalimar, Raver-Adarsh Nagar Delhi and Savda-Adarsh Nagar Delhi.
