Is project se tourism, handicrafts, horticulture, aur healthcare ko bahut fayda hoga, kyunki travel affordable aur convenient ho jaayega, khaas karke patients aur timely medical supplies ki zarurat walon ke liye. Lekin, kuch Jammu ke entrepreneurs ko apne business mein loss ka dar hai, aur activists environment par iske impact se chinta mein hain.

Rail services partially restored in Jammu and Kashmir

Heavy snowfall on December 28, 2024, disrupted railway services on the Sangaldan-Baramulla section of the Firozpur division in Kashmir Valley. at 2:30 p.m., with the first train leaving at 2:45 p.m., followed by the Budgam-Baramulla section reopening at 4 p.m. (first train at 4:30 p.m.). The Anantnag-Qazigund and Qazigund-Banihal sections remained closed due to snow, but were cleared by 6 p.m. and expected to reopen December 29, 2024, weather permitting. Approximately 80-85% of the 130km stretch was cleared. A WDM locomotive with a snow cutter was deployed. A Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) inspection of the 17km Katra-Reasi section is scheduled for January 2025, with a report on the Reasi-Sangaldan section already submitted. The Reasi-Sangaldan section's completion will connect Jammu and Kashmir by rail.

Ek WDM locomotive snow cutter ke saath use kiya gaya. Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) ka inspection 17km Katra-Reasi section mein January 2025 mein hona hai, aur Reasi-Sangaldan section ki report pehle hi submit ho chuki hai. A Vande Bharat train is expected to be the first to run on this route, connecting Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) has already conducted one inspection and will conduct a final inspection in January 2025 before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off the train service, tentatively in January 2025. The impressive Chinab Bridge, a 359-meter-high railway bridge, is part of this project, capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions and earthquakes.
