more... in the august presence of Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Haryana at a ceremony held at Kurukshetra Railway station today(09.12.2016). on the same occasion, he also laid the foundation-stone for upgraded passenger amenities at Kurukshetra railway station. Shri Raj Kumar Saini, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Shri Ram Kumar Kashyap, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shri Subash Sudha, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Kurukshetra, Haryana and Shri Pawan Saini, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Ladwa, Haryana were the distinguished guests on the occasion at Kurukshetra.
Schedule Of Express Train No. 11901/11902 Kurukshetra-Mathura Kurukshetra:
The 11902 Kurukshetra-Mathura Jn. 5 days a week (Except Thursday & Sunday) Express train will depart from Kurukshetra from 06.12.2016 at 02.55 p.m. to arrive at Mathura Jn. at 09.40 p.m. the same day. In the return direction the 11901 Mathura Jn.- Kurukshetra 5 days a week (Except Thursday & Sunday) Express train will depart from Mathura Jn. from 07.12.2016 at 05.30.a.m. to arrive at Kurukshetra at 12.40 p.m. the same day. Comprising of 5 Deendayalu coaches, 2 general second class, 2 chair car, one A.C. Chair Car besides two luggage-cum-disabled friendly coaches the 11901/11902 Mathura Jn.-Kurukshetra Express train will stop at Chhata, Kosi Kalan, Palwal, Faridabad, Hazrat Nizamuddin, New Delhi, Subzi Mandi, Sonepat, Samalkha, Panipat & Karnal stations enroute in both the directions.
Foundation-Stone for Passenger Amenity Works and Development Projects
Northern Railway plans to bring in greater modernization and boost facilities at his station through the following development works viz. Platform Shelter., 6 nos Retiring Rooms, Dormitories 20 beds with attached toilets, Provision of User Friendly Toilets on Platform, Tourist Information Center, Pay and Use Toilets., Mini P.F. shelters, Water Coolers, Water Booths, Benches, Improvement to circulating area and Signages Retro Reflective Signages, High Mast Lights, Reflectors, Traffic Guide Markings etc. at Kurukshetra Station besides aesthetic improvement through Murals, Rockery Fountain, Landscaping at an estimated cost of Rs.6.00 cr. The upgraded facilities are targeted to be completed by Dec. 2018. The other development projects planned at Kurukshetra include Construction of high level PF No. 4 & 5. Provision of earmarked Parking and Signages and landscaping of Circulating Area at an estimate cost of Rs. 1.65 cr, Suitable Road Safety works on Kurukshetra-Narwana Section through eliminated of 17 level-crossing works at an estimated cost of Rs. 18.35 cr., Construction of ROB in lieu of Level-crossing No. 65 between Kurukshetra- Thanesar Cityat an estimated cost of Rs. 26 cr. and Construction of RUB in lieu of Level-crossing No. 97 between Dhola Mazra-Shahbad Markanda at an estimated cost of Rs.25 cr.
In keeping with the agenda of modernization of all railway stations, Northern Railway has completed several development projects and introduced various initiatives at Kurukshetra station and its precincts viz. Construction of Limited Height Subway(LHS) under ROB in Kaithal station Yard- Cost Rs. 2 cr., Elimination of Un-Manned Level-crossings by LHS on 12 Nos L-Xings No. 6,8,21,22, , 24,25,29, 45,46,50, 53 &56 on Kurukshetra-Narwana Section. Cost Rs. 20.13 cr., Construction of ROB in Lieu of L-Xing 98 between Shahbad Markanda-Mohri on Delhi-Ambala-KurukshetraSection. Cost Rs. 5 cr., Construction of VIP Lounge, Upper Class waiting Hall, Retiring Room for passengers at Kurukshetra Station. Cost Rs. 1.25 cr and Opening of New Kaithal Station between Kaithal-Geong Stations on Kurukshetra-Narwana Section. Cost Rs. 1.20 cr.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Prabhu stated that with these modernization initiatives and projects, the Railway lays down the blue-print for greater modernization of Kurukshetra. The Railway would continue its endeavor to provide people-centric initiatives and bring in greater socio-economic progress.
