One thing famous about this place is the 'Davangere Benne Dose' - BENNE = BUTTER in Kannada and Dose = Dosa. So its all about the famous butter dosas of Davangere or DAVANGERE BENNE DOSE - as it is popularly called. click here If you are at DVG for any reason then make sure you go to one of the many DOSE centers. SAGAR BENNE DOSE Center just about 1 km from Rly Stn is/was the best place. DVG Benne Dose is available in many more cities/towns across Karnataka / Maharashtra. I have tried it at Bangalore / BGM / BJP / PUNE / UBL / DWR and many other places.
