Of these many couldn't b a success probably due to :-
*Less Leg Room (Legs seems to be crushed)
*Width of seats is less (fat people cant travel comfortably)
*Luggage Problem
*Lack of PC on longer routes/ journey (AC pax dont prefer to get down to buy RAIL NEER/soft drinks etc )
*(Inputs welcomed)

Not to forget
*heavy investment and manpower in R&D
*RDSO trials and certificate
*CRS trails
*curve issues
*pf manipulation

The POINT is dont run DDs for d sake of running tag "DOUBLE DECKER" in the country.
its a waste exercise if its not ran in conducive way or optimum utilized.

But v hav witnessed certain DDs which r successful such as JP-DEE, ADI-BCT, MAS-SBC, LJN-ANVT but lets us clear that dese have become successful dont bcoz of DOUBLE DECKER concept but bcoz of route demanding a AC train. not to forget JP-DEE has 2 shat EC coaches.

consider newly inaugurated LJN-ANVT DD which has 10 CC
so lets compare
10x120=1200 seats
15*78=1170 seats
What m trying to say is a icf shat can b easily ran with 15coaches carrying almost same no. of passengers

there r HBJ - INDB -BPL - INDB - HBJ DD which jst hav 3 coaches whereas it was said DD wud clear rush
what a joke !
instead of above DD, a simple ICE consisting of GEN, 2S, CC would do boon for passengers

Therefore, I wud suggest to run ICF shats without catering charges on wherever routes required.

Now dese existing DD sud b ran only on existing shat routes only.
I have heard manufacturing of DD has been stopped.

Last but not d least, some positive scope.
DDs wud b a assest where it can replace 24coacher or max coaches train with same comfort and everything....
