Eventhough booked on 29th september for 12th january(pqwl#26 at the time booking) from chennai to khammam finally it is in waiting list. Since it is festival days it is ok but the Clearence has reduced even on normal days after it gone to premium tatkal quota
Luckily i booked in GT also on 24th september itself (pqwl#54) but i forgot that the season is for fog in north india. So immediately i booked in charminar. But this time due to the spare rake of GT by Souther Railways it is starting from chennai at correct time. Now it got confimed on GT. Good clearence for Gt because it is long running and my destination is short distance compared to its journey time.

During MG time, there was a SC-GTL express with pretty much the same timings (7505/06) departing from SC around 8PM and in the return, reaching SC around 6 AM. The 7609/10 is probably just a truncated form of this train. Of course, this was later replaced with present-day Prashanti Nilayam express.

Hussain Sagar used to run in the slot of present day Konark express, departing from VT around 4 PM in the evening and reaching HYB early morning. Minar used to run in the present day slot of Hussain Sagar. In 1993, Minar and Konark were merged to run as VT-BBS Konark express and Hussain Sagar was made a... more...
daily instead. Hussain Sagar and Minar exchanged slots, with HS losing early morning arrival at HYB and instead departing late night from VT and Konark took the old slot of HS, departing from VT in the late afternoon. Minar used to be an SF, but HS was not an SF.
