Sdah ETS recieves 8 wap4 and 4 wap7 every week from Hwh ELS. These locos are given mostly to the premium trains like Raj, duro, etc and long distance trains like Ballia exp, akal takht exp, ananya exp, Ganga sagar exp, etc. Hence for operation of rest of the trains, Sdah ETS is dependent on the waggies and wammies provided by Asn ELS. As long distance trains always recieves higher priority than Intercity type trains, so most of the intercities, be it exp or SF, recieves waggie or wammie
Firstly, the type of loco doesn't matter to IR. All they care about is if the loco can meet the schedule of the train. And also the utilization factor of the locomotives is an important parameter, so loco allocations are done in such a way as to maximize utilization of all available locos. Another reason is the location of HWH shed. Since there are no direct trains between HWH-SDAH, locos should move light from HWH to SDAH and this will disrupt traffic on the route. So, they will try to minimize the disruption either by sending out the locos in batches, or just giving enough locos for some important trains. For some reason, they have chosen the latter... more...
