Can see electric poles. Any update as to when will the MAO-MAQ stretch be open as electric section ? Has work been completed ?

This stretch is already electrified & most Freights are running with Eloco.
CRS is completed till Karwar. Most work of remaining Phase-2 part i.e between Karwar - Verna is almost completed. Only few minor works are pending. As per sources - TSS energisation at Kumta is required to conduct trials & CRS upto Verna. Kumta TSS work is also most completed. Only wait is energisation.

Ok. So freight with eloco , do they have loco change at Madgaon ? Earlier there was news that passenger trains will operate with Eloco up till Ratnagiri ( towards Mangalore) and from MAO to Mangalore it would be diesel. Then later on I think plan got shelved.
Line Electrified only till Karwar from Thokur. Madgaon Electrification work done, but yet to be electrified till Kumta TSS charging done.
Freight gets there loco change or Piggybacking between Ankola in South till Ratnagiri in North or vice versa. Later Electrics resumes.
