yeah i have my own experience, It will be summer time and Chennai will be more humid. Avoid dark colored dress just because of hot Sun. Always drink bottled water, wash your hands with anti-bacterial. Try not to use public restroom (most places it won't be clean). India uses 220-240v utilities, so if you have personal electrical equipment, you need a converter. First thing most visitors encounter is stomach upset, because of water/food. So please have your medicines ready! Do not wear revealing clothes, pack light clothes and try to use 100% cotton. Make sure to wear inner garments to avoid too much perspiration. Clothing is cheap and it depends on shop and material you like to choose. Since you are going to be in N. Chennai, you can shop at Purasawalkam area. Chudidhar/Salwar is common for girls, simple cotton top and jeans are famous too. You can buy tops anywhere...
more... between Rs.300 to Rs. 600, again it depends on design and work and you will never see such work in other part of the world.
