Chamarajanagar-Tirupati Express by pulling the chain, N Vishnumoorthy, a senior guard, had to walk on the railings of the Srirangapatna girder bridge near the Srirangapatna railway station to retore it. The video shows Vishnumoorthy standing on the narrow girder and examining the system, before stretching out to restore the alarm with just one foot on a girder.
“By risking his life he walked o­n the girder bridge without any walkway and restored the chain that was stuck to last vehicle board. He could complete this difficult job in 10 minutes,” an official release said.
As the footage went viral, many lauded Vishnumoorthy on social media. The train’s guard was also rewarded by the South Western Railways for his bravery with Rs 5,000.
After restoring the system, Vishnumoorthy also caught the passenger who had pulled the alarm chain. The passenger turned out to have pulled the chain without any valid reason, and was handed over to Railway Protection Force to face action.

Train guard who risked his life to reset alarm chain felicitated
Mysuru:  N. Vishnumoorthy, a passenger guard on the Tirupati Express, who risked his life to reset an alarm chain pulled by a passenger was given a cash award and felicitated yesterday. Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway, presented certificates and cash award to Vishnumoorthy, Senior Passenger Guard of Bengaluru Division for his commendable work. Pulling the alarm chain brings the train to a halt but the chain has to be reset manually to restore air pressure without which the train cannot move.

was working on Train No.16219 Chamarajanagar-Tirupati Express on Dec. 26 and the train was stopped at Srirangapatna girder bridge due to Inter chain communication (ICC) known as alarm chain pulling.
The coach on which the emergency chain was pulled came to a halt on the bridge across River Cauvery. Vishnumoorthy walked the rake and on identifying the coach found it to be unapproachable as it was in the middle of the bridge.
By risking his life he walked on the bridge without any walkway and restored the chain that was stuck to the last vehicle board. Vishnumoorthy could complete this difficult job in 10 minutes and moreover, he also caught the offender who pulled alarm chain without any valid reason and handed him over to Railway Protection Force.
In recognition of his work, Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway, presented a cash award of Rs. 5,000 to Vishnumoorthy, according to a press release from the Railways.

The timings of Train No.56281 Chamarajanagar - KSR Bengaluru Passenger is revised from today i.e 10.11.2018 between Chamarajanagar – Mysuru as detailed below:-
Train No.56281 Chamarajanagar - KSR Bengaluru Passenger will depart from Chamarajanagar at 07.15 hrs instead of 07.00 hrs and arrive at Mysuru at 09.05 hrs with effect from 10.11.2018.
Enroute the train will stop at Mariyal Gangawadi – 07.21 hrs; Badanaguppe – 07.26 hrs; Konanur – 07:31 hrs; Kavalande – 07:39 hrs; Narasambudi – 07:46 hrs; Chinnadagudihdi – 07:50 hrs; Nanjangud Town- 08:05 hrs; Sujathapuram – 08:09 hrs; Tandavapura – 08:14 hrs; Kadakola – 08:20 hrs; Ashokapuram – 08:35 hrs and Chamarajapuram – 08:40 hrs. Timings between Mysuru and KSR Bengaluru will remain unchanged.
