The South Western Railway (SWR) has changed the arrival or departure time of several trains.
Accordingly, the Lalbagh Express (Train No 12608) will depart from KSR Bengaluru at 6:30 am.
The Mysuru-Chennai Central Express (Train No 12610) will depart KSR Bengaluru at 8 am.
Mysuru - Sainagar Shirdi Express (Train No 16217) will depart KSR Bengaluru – at 8.10 am from October 14.
Dharmapuri DEMU Passenger (Train No 76553) will depart from KSR Bengaluru at 6.30 pm.
The Bangarpet MEMU (Train No 16522) will depart from KSR Bengaluru at 7.30 pm.
The Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express (train no 17317) will depart from Hubballi at 3.30 pm.
Chandigarh – Yeshwantpur Sampark Kranti Express (Train No 22686) will arrive/depart Hubballi at 10.25 pm/10.40 pm from October 12.

HUBBALLI: The 18th Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting of SWR was held at Railway Officers Club, Hubballi on 18th April, 2017. A.K.Gupta, GM/SWR presided over the meeting. Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Dharwad; Sanganna A Karadi, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), Koppal; B.R. Yavgal, Hon’ble MLA of Nargund; Nilesh Cabral , Hon’ble MLA, Curchorem and other members of ZRUCC were present to discuss the various issues relating to South Western Railway with A.K. Gupta, General Manager of South Western Railway and other officers.
Addressing the meeting, A.K. Gupta, GM/SWR said that SWR has carried more than 193 million passengers during the financial year 2016-17, with about 2 % increase over last
year. Considering the volume of our passenger traffic, this is a significant growth. The passenger earning for this financial year is Rs.1929 Crs, which is nearly 2% higher than that of previous year. The punctuality achieved by SWR was 97 % (average) which is 3rd best on Indian Railways. Mysuru division was noted to be 3rd best division in IR in regard to Punctuality. 12 pairs of new trains were introduced during the financial year as against only one introduced in 2015-16. Further, 3238 special train were run and 2235 extra coaches attached from time to time during peak periods. On the freight sector SWR has achieved loading of 44.2 Million Tonnes which was 5% more than that of last year. This is the best ever originating freight loading in the last 10 years Hubballi Division, the major freight loading Division of South Western Railway ranks 7th on Indian Railways today.
SWR has achieved all time record performance on the Construction front. 201km of new lines have been commissioned last year which is the highest in the history of SWR” he added.
“The new line commissioned include 111 km. between Shravanabelagola-Nelamangala, 63 km between Rayadurga-Kadiridevarapalli and 27 km between Ginigera-Chikkabenakal. An amount of Rs.1900 cr. has been has been incurred in upgrading infrastructure this year which is the highest so far. All over IR, record 953 kms of new line commissioned. This is the highest everIn the history of Railways. The contribution of SWR to this figure is nearly 21 % (201 km of 953 km ) which is extraordinary achievement”, he said.
He informed that Doubling has been commissioned in 59Km over SWR during last year. The doubling works done by SWR include 13 km of Doubling between Yelahanka – Chennasandra, 7 km of doubling between Yesvantpur –Yelahanka, 40 km in Hosapete-Tinaighat section. Another highlight of the year is the commissioning of 257 KM of electrification. We have almost doubled our electrified track. SWR has taken action to eliminate a large no. of Level Crossings for enhancing safety of Train operations. During 2016-17, 72 nos. of Level Crossing gates were eliminated by construction of Limited height subways/ROB/RUBs.
Pralhad Joshi, Hon’ble MP of Dharwad has discussed about progress of doubling work of Hubballi-Chikkajajur. Gupta told that the entire project is planned for completion by 2019-20. Regarding the work for additional entry to Hubballi Railway Station from Gadag road side to reduce traffic congestion from the front gate, Gupta informed the MP that the work has been planned and tender is under finalization.
Karadi Sanganna, Hon’ble MP advised to Speed up doubling works and sought the detail progress report in this regard. GM, A.K. Gupta said that work has been completed in Hubballi-Hebsur, Dharwad-Kambarganvi-Alnawar, Harlapur-Sompur-Bannikoppa-Bhanapur and Shivthan-Londa-Tinaighat Sections. The entire Hubballi-Hosapete Line doubling will be completed by 2019-20. To his enquiry about provision of stoppage of Train No.57273/57274 Hubballi – Tirupati – Hubballi Daily Passenger at Hitnal station, A.K. Gupta said that the proposal of stoppage of this train at Hitnal on experimental basis for 6 months has been sent to Railway Board. Station Building work at Gangavathi is in progress. The Station building and New line between Chikkabenakal-Gangavathi are planned to be completed by December 2017.
To a question of B.R. Yavagal, Hon’ble MLA of Nargund, GM/SWR said that amenites at Hole Alur and Mallapur station are being improved.
Nilesh Cabral, Hon’ble MLA of Curchorem of Goa, has insisted to construct ROB/RUBs and doubling in Vasco-Londa section.
The ZRUCC members agreed to the following three proposals (1) Cancellation of Train No.11423/11424 Solapur-Hubballi-Solapur Intercity Express, so that, Path can be utilized for Extension of Train No.22139/22140 Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai – Solapur – Chatrapati Shivaji Terminus Mumbai Express up to Gadag, (2) Diversion of Train No.16515/16516 Yesvantpur-Karwar-Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Express Via Yesvantpur-Hassan New line instead of running in existing route via Tumakuru- Arsikere, Diversion of Train No.16517/16518 KSR Bengaluru-Kannur- KSR Bengaluru, (3) Train No.16523/16524 KSR Bengaluru – Karwar – KSR Bengaluru Overnight Express Via. Yesvantpur-Hassan New line instead of running on the existing route via Mandya – Mysuru.

Sivaprasad, Chief Commercial Manager; and other Officers from South Western Railway along with Babulal Jain, Member of ZRUCC; G.K. Adappagoudar of Gadag Passenger Association, Vinay Kumar, DRUCC Member of Mysuru, A.K. Sitaram, DRUCC Member of Bengaluru, Gangaram S. Morajkar of Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry and other ZRUCC members were also present and discussed various issues in the Meeting.

Reported lack of coordination and signal from ground staff resulted in two empty trains colliding at the railway yard of Hubballi station resulting in damage to 12 coaches.
The mishap also resulted in Platform No. 6 being shut for over four hours at the railway station.
After the removal of the coaches and track repair works, the platform was thrown open in the evening.

According to railway sources, Lokamanya Tilak Express (17318) with a few coaches of the Solapur Passenger attached to it was proceeding to the pit line for maintenance and the Kochuveli Express was to proceed to the pit line after it. However, as the Kochuveli Express was taking a reverse turn, reportedly the ground staff failed in coordinating properly, which resulted in the train ramming the coaches of the Lokamanya Tilak Express causing the derailment of a few of them.
The sources said that 10 of the Lokamanya Tilak Express and two of the Kochuveli Express were damaged in the mishap. Following the mishap, a pointsman, who was supposed to be coordinating with the driver while taking the train to the pit line, has been suspended. An inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
As many as three trains, Hubballi-Solapur Express (11424), Kolhapur-Hyderabad Express (11304) and Hubballi-Nizamuddin Link Express (17305), were delayed.
While the Solapur Express was delayed by 2 hours 10 minutes, the other two trains were delayed by 40 minutes and 35 minutes, respectively.
Meanwhile, Train No 11423 Solapur-Hubballi Intercity Express that was scheduled to arrive at Hubballi at 2.30 p.m., reached at 4.30 p.m.
