In order to meet the rush of passengers during this festive season, the South Eastern Railway (SER) has decided to run two pairs of special superfast trains between Howrah and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai on September 22 and 26.
An official of Garden Reach, headquarters of South Eastern Railway informed that the 01126 Howrah-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Puja Superfast Special will leave Howrah at 11.30 am on September 22. The train will reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Mumbai at 12.20 am on September 24.

Puja Superfast Special will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 11.30 am on September 26 and will arrive Howrah at 9.30 pm, the next day.
The special trains will have one AC 2-tier, four AC-3 tier, twelve sleeper class and four general second class coaches. The train will have stoppages at Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Gondia, Nagpur, Badnera, Akola, Bhusaval, Manmad, Igatpuri and Kalyan stations between the two destinations.
Meanwhile, the computerised reservation centre at Tatanagar is witnessing a huge rush of passengers with waiting list crossing the 100 mark for most long-distance mail and express trains headed towards New Delhi, Mumbai , Patna and other destinations. The officials at the ticket reservation counter here said that in almost all the long distance trains waiting list has virtually reached the ‘no room’ stage.
SER, Garden Reach, Kolkata issued orders to add additional number of coaches to the trains ferrying from Tatanagar. “From Durga puja to Chhat we expect the passengers rush to maintain the same trend and it is therefore additional arrangements are being made on temporary basis,” said a senior booking official at the Tatanagar ticket booking counter.
Meanwhile, the decision of SER to introduce coaches has given people a reason to smile. “ Durga Puja is one of the most important festivals of east India. Every year the rush of passengers increases.
