The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) will run special trains between Bandra and Udupi to clear extra rush of passengers during Holi festival in co-ordination with Western Railway, according to a press release issued by KRCL Deputy General Manager Girish R Karandikar.
The Train No 09011 Bandra - Udupi AC Special on Special Fare will depart from Bandra at 23:55 hrs on March 8 and will arrive at Udupi at 18:00 hrs on the next day.

The train will have 19 coaches with four 2-tier AC coaches, eight 3-Tier AC, five coaches of AC Chair Car and two Generator Car.
The Train No 09009 Bandra - Udupi Special on Special Fare will depart from Bandra at 23:55 hrs on March 10 and will arrive at Udupi at 18:00 hrs on the next day.
In the return, the Train No 09010 Udupi - Bandra Special on Special Fare will depart from Udupi at 19:00 hrs on March 11 and will arrive at Bandra at 14:35 hrs on the next day.

I dont think so that will be possible till Udupi has pit lanes and other infrastructure. I feel KR has to take initiation in doing this mainly in Udupi if they have space or else somewhere nearby where they arrange pit lanes and parking lanes. Then they can start. The biggest hurdle will be that SWR does not have any slot on the ghat section correctly. Once doubling is done then they will additional slots for running trains in this line.

New trains have been introduced because of the minister's persuasion. We still don't know what kind of compromises they had to do to introduce the new trains without any change in the infrastructure on the ghat section.
I guess only trains proposed by the minister will have the RB's approval. Other proposals will likely see the same 'ghat restrictions' hurdle.

For the convenience of passengers and to clear the extra rush during the ensuing festive season of Holi, Western Railway will run two Special trains o­n special fare between Bandra Terminus – Udupi stations. The details are given as under :-
·09011/09012 Bandra (T) –UdupiAC Special Train o­n Special Fare (2 services)
Train No. 09011 Bandra (T) – Udupi AC Special Train will leave Bandra Terminusat 23.55 hrs o­n Sunday i.e. 8th March, 2020 and will reach Udupi at 18.00 hrs, the next day.
Similarly, in return direction Train No. 09012 Udupi - Bandra Terminus AC Special Train will leave Udupi at 19.00 hrs o­n Monday i.e. 9th March, 2020 and will arrive Bandra (T) at 15.00 hrs, the next day.
