Yesterday thought that will board this train's General or Sleeper compartment with a General ticket from Vizianagram to Balasore. I am again saying, I "Thought" to board.
Train arrived exact on time at VZM platform 4.
General coaches were already filled up and people were hanging on Doors already. Toilets were also full of people with No windows. Passengers had broken the window so that toilets could be used as a window seat. :P

more... the 13 Sleeper coaches, each and every coach was full it people upto brim. Doors were jammed and even if you have your confirm ticket, you will have to spend huge amount of energy and time to reach your seat.
AC coaches were also having WL or regular passengers seating near Attendant's bed. But inside their were no unauthorized entries.
If you are travelling with family or ladies or even alone, Try to avoid the SL coaches and GS coaches.
After hearing about coach conditions, you can imagine what will the Cleanliness and maintenance condition of this train.
I think the reason for this is the lack of trains from eastern India to Kerala. Just four SF trains and two leaves from Shalimar.

Its not lack of trains, Its about no knowledge for option trains.
Generally these crowd are those people who are lesser literate or illiterate. Thus they know about well renowned trains for a specific routes, unlike us who search for trains on Internet.
Example: People who are of lower class or illiterate will say the name of Coromandal Express...
more... or Chennai Mail if asked to travel from Kolkata to Chennai, even if there's a less renowned weekly or special train running on exact same route.
Only solution is running clone trains of well renowned and crowded trains.

similarly, rather than spending crores on creating new lines, we could use them in doubling existing lines, implementing automatic signals etc so as to create new slots for trains but we won't.
It's strange that a train like Antodyaya which I think is a brilliant concept runs averagely filled. And yes, the problem is lack of information on the part of the less privileged. However, I still believe there are some routes where a train or two is lacking. Like in HWH-PURI route, you have numerous trains(daily+weekly+bi-weekly) but no direct trains exist between HWH-Kerala!(by direct I mean originating or terminating at HWH). Now I understand PURI is a popular tourist destination but still, why not have at least one good train(Bi-weekly) on such an important HWH-Trivandrum route? I think there is effort lacking from both IR and the common masses.
I heard from one of my kerala collegue that ppl of kerala go gulf countries and in kerala no more local labour available so ppl of eastern side come here lot for worKS and for them kerala is like gulf so I think all the kerala eastern bound trains will be always full jam packed..
So all labours in Kerala are from East/North-East? And Gulf has labours from Kerala?
Yes in Gulf you can most of kerala ppl in all shops malls offices in fact they have big big associations. You might heard about LULU Hypermarkets it's head quartered at UAE and owner of this is kerala person so only LULU hypermarket mall you can find in kochi but not in other city's yet but Egypt Saudi Oman Kuwait baharain Malaysia India UAE all this countries have this hypermarkets branches
My friend want to contruct home but no kerala local labour but some r their who demand more and u have to keep waiting for them one or another day so ppl prefer these eastern India labour who charge bit low then locals and do the works but now a days crimes increasing as some ppl find no mens in home they rob or rape and run away these all that kerala friend told.
The same situation u can see in Ratnagiri district dhapoli and bhatkal and Mangaluru of karnataka almost go gulf countries for jobs.. dhapoli have large labour from north karnataka places like bijapur Belgaum districts
In Gulf these gulf ppl don't do any works they only need official jobs the road and bathroom cleaning labors are most from Bangladesh and business ppl from kerala and Tamil Nadu Engineers/Good profile job holders from from

Even some Pakistani Punjabi guys also prefer Canada only. I met one guy from Jammu kashmir he was planning to go Canada and their was like if he stay their for some years then he can get citizenship and with that he try job in Gulf for which salaries will paid in dollars and send those convert those dollars into Indian rupees and it will be more amount compared to Saudi riyal conversion to Indian rupees which will be bit less amount.
I must admit that it was extremely brave of you to even think of this. I wonder how the TTE's man the coaches. Do they even get into sleeper coaches ?
Also the pantry car guys..........wonder how they are able to navigate through such crowd and sell things. As of now there are weekly trains running from Assam to Kerala for 3 days (3 weekly trains)........even if they start another tri weekly/bi weekly in new slots for the rest of the week, hopefully some load should come down. In this way you almost end up having one train for every day of the week
Agree with you. Generally TTE dont come towards these SL coaches.
PC guys easily go through these crowds. I think they are talented in this. ;P
