I recently took this train from Jalandhar to New Delhi. Let me rate this train on a few things.
Food: Amazing. Way better than train 12013/12014. I've been on both, but the food on this train is much better. I even uploaded a picture of my dinner. I had the Non-Veg option and got rice, dal, chicken curry, dahi, parathas, and even vanilla ice cream. The food is tasty and enough. I'd give it a 4 out of 5. Evening snacks are pretty good too, but could be improved.
Cleanliness: The cleanliness is good. The seats and surroundings in the passenger area were clean and the OBHS (On-Board Housekeeping Staff) was cleaning the coach regularly. However, the toilets stank really bad and there was no water.
Punctuality: The train was supposed to arrive at NDLS at 11:05 pm. But because of the passengers, the train had to stop two times at Sadar Bazar and Aadarsh Nagar. So it finally arrived at 11:25 pm, but it was on time otherwise.
Security: The RPF (Railway Protection Force) staff did a great job. They were keeping an eye on the coaches regularly. So I'd rate them 5 out of 5.
Staff: The staff's behavior was really good, very polite. So I'd give them a 4 out of 5.
Railfanning: Well, you can enjoy the beauty of Punjab in the evening, at least till Ludhiana. After that, it gets dark and it's not possible to take any photos. The main attraction is when this train crosses its sister train 12013 near Sirhind or Sadhoogarh station. During winter, watching the setting sun over the fields of Punjab with mist flying above them is pure bliss.
Overall, it was a good experience. I'd rate it 4 out of 5. In my opinion, it's much better than train 12013/14 in every aspect.
