Veg meals cost 110 bucks and it includes rice, extra rice, chole masala, dal, subji, pickle, and salt. They didn't give water, except for the last lunch. I miss the days when they used to provide dahi in some trains. I also miss having roti. Maybe they gave extra rice to make up for it. But there is too much rice for the dal and most people end up throwing it away. Veg or anda biryani or pulav, whatever you wanna call it, is available from breakfast time itself. Dal vada, anda pakora, samosa/singda, they rarely come. Breakfast had bread omelette or bread and cutlet. First day we got 3 slices of bread, but the next day only 2 slices. By the time the train reaches late (10:30) in Durgapur, you can buy a fish thali for 60 bucks from the platform. It's much better than the food served on board. Local vendors come into the coaches, even the AC ones, till Asansol. After that, it's difficult to get food or have any variety. Maybe it's because I traveled during the puja time.
