Part I: Santragachi to Khurda Road

The train usually tries to maintain its schedule but gets delayed on some runs due to heavy traffic.
Part II: Khurda Road to Visakhapatnam
KHURDA ROAD : 10 MIN. LATE
VISAKHAPATNAM : 05 MIN. LATE
The train has a great run in this section. If you can, track its speed. It will be close to MPS for the entire night. Myself observed it recently. The average speed of 81 km/hr between Khurda Road and Vizianagram is realistically achieved on most runs.
Part III: Visakhapatnam to Vijayawada
VISAKHAPATNAM : 05 MIN. LATE
SAMALKOT : 10 MIN. LATE
RAJAHMUNDRY : 15 MIN. LATE
TADEPALLIGUDEM : 15 MIN. LATE
VIJAYAWADA : 15 MIN. LATE
The train gets slightly delayed due to high morning traffic in this section. Add to that huge freight traffic after Samalkot. Runs ahead of AP A.C. Exp. till Vijayawada. AP A.C. Exp. is halted at Outer and this A.C. Exp. is usually given preference.
Part IV: Vijayawada to Chennai Central
VIJAYAWADA : 15 MIN. LATE
ONGOLE : 05 MIN. LATE
NELLORE : 05 MIN. LATE
GUDUR : ON TIME
SULLURUPETA : ON TIME
CHENNAI CENTRAL: 15 MIN. LATE
The train has a thrashing run till Nellore. Thrashes apart many stations at MPS. The afternoon warmness is neglected because of the speed. After Nellore, the real crawling begins. Train might arrive Before Time at Sullurupeta (happened during my run). After Sullurupeta, crawling will continue. Just before Chennai, Vijayawada Jan-Shatabdi might overtake this train. The run through the Chennai Suburbs is very slow, after Minjur. Might be held up at Chennai Central Outer due to huge number of late night departures.

Yes....by one hour atleast....the load is just 17 coaches....so pick-up is very high....even with a WAP-1....
I really appreciate the schedule it maintains till Nellore....hats off to the overnight blast....and the late afternoon blast after Krishna Canal....
Kept thrashing stations at MPS for over an hour....Tenali....Bapatia....Chirala....

Well....it seems someone did not like the TIP....whoever feels this tip is important can keep it....do not know why it was changed to GT....gave every piece of info. about punctuality....based on personal experience and other sources....

Pulao with chicken, egg or paneer curry
Chicken for 130, egg for 105, veg for 100
I opted for chicken curry pulao and I will give 8/10

Bread butter omlet comes with sauce costs 50
Bread butter cutlet and upma are 2 other options
Don't know the​ rates of the latter two
Lunch options for day 2
Egg rice,chicken rice and veg rice
All these comes with Dal , papad, Potato curry, sweet curd along with rice and opted curry all these costs around 120

Overall it is a good train
Dont worry about its 23:00 arr at mas. Mas is a very good station .i booked retiring rooms there . The station looks as if it were only 20:00 . So dont hesitate to book this train if you are travelling to mas or sbc (take shatabdi next morning).

No need to worry about the problem of no food stalls in Santragachi or proper hotels near station in first platform side. As soosn the train starts moving you will start getting snacks and order for dinner will be taken. Food quality and quantity is ok. I had a feeling that salt was less. Price as usual, you know how much they charge.
