I am planning to go to Kodaikanal from Coimbatore in June End this year. I will be reaching coimbatore junction in morning around 5.
Want to know whether there are direct govt buses from Combatore early in morning around 6-8 am for kodaikanal.
Will appreciate If anyone can help with this info.

If you are coming from Calicut why would you go to Kovai or Tiruppur as you asked in another post? That circuitous route. Its Calicut-Palakkad-Pollachi-Palani-Kodaikanal.
Actually a bit tough. The no. of buses to Kodai is a bit less. But in day time especially morning there are few long distance buses like from Salem which come, so hopefully you can get seats.
When is you exact travel date. If it is june 26, then you can try this link.

The reason for coming to coimbatore is that the train reaches there at 4 am from calicut which is manageable time to alight, besides this trian goes to pallakkad junction and not pallakkak town from where the pass train originates. however reaches there at about 230 in morning which is very inconvenient.
Thus the best option is to get down at coimbatore and move to palani by bus and take another one from there. From the suggestions recd this seems to be the option.

Calicut is nearer to Palakkad, so suggested.
Even without considering train, just the bus distance from Calicut to Palani is some 240 Kms. So many KSRTC buses to Palakkad, and immediately you get Pollachi buses there itself and then finally from Pollachi to Palani. The entire journey from Calicut to Palani is just 6 hrs.
Anyway, I travelled a long ago, then it had a frequency of some 1 hr -2 hr between buses. Now no idea.
